Marissa has always loved and appreciated art and all of its creative outlets. At a young age, she began to dream about becoming a cosmetologist which then became a dream of becoming a professional makeup artist. While attending college in the suburbs of Boston, she studied theatre and worked in theatrical costuming. During that time she participated in student films as their hair and makeup artist while taking on additional makeup gigs on the side.

 

Following her college graduation, in just three and a half years, she took on the role of makeup designer and wig stylist for NYU Steinhardt's production of 'Sweet Smell of Success'. From there, she went on to travel the world onboard Norwegian Cruise Lines ships as Wardrobe Supervisor and in between contracts, she would work on local indie films doing hair and makeup. After five years at sea, she switched gears to solely focus on makeup. 

 

 After a year at Sephora and one final costuming gig in Florida, with Cirque Dreams, she was on her way back to ship life when the pandemic shut everything down. During that time, in February of 2021, Marissa was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer.

During her final month of chemotherapy in November of 2021, she decided to go after her dream and dedicate her time to becoming a full time professional makeup artist. Then started Marissa Mancini Makeup Artistry bridal edition.
